An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
